Team Healthy Detroit (Team HD) offers monthly wellness seminars to help local residents with this battle.
On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, at the Detroit Whole Food Market Office in the Midtown District (Address: 3670 Woodward Ave. Detroit, MI 48201), the Healthy Detroit Seminar leader Versandra Kennebrew will host Dr. Ressurrection Graves. Ressurrection will be visiting from the DC Area to help improve peoples emotional health and wellness by sharing her life experiences and insights to local Detroit Area residents.
The Healthy Detroit Seminar event will take place on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In fact, this event unfolds just three (3) days after National Hunger and Homeless Awareness Week (actually running just over a week from November 10 18, 2012), where a lot of schools and communities take part in a nationwide effort to bring greater awareness to the problems of hunger and homelessness.
Dr. Ressurrection Graves is a national speaker who is energetic, but she is also a homeless advocate and massage therapist. She started and ran a successful massage service company. One of her clients even was a former professional football player. She was a child prodigy who became a published author at 12-years-old.
Versandra Kennebrew of Team HD emphasizes, Dr. Graves is an amazing woman with an amazing story. At our monthly Healthy Detroit Seminars, we try to find ways to reach our attendees and help provide ways for them to live more healthy lives, and theyre really going to enjoy listening to what Dr. Graves has to say.
Unfortunately, life did not always go smoothly for Dr. Ressurrection Graves, as she suffered from homelessness, being the victim of molestation, rape, and incest. Recently, she wrote a memoir recounting her difficult years and her journey to recovery.
